Professional Teeth Whitening
Dentists offer two primary methods of vital whitening. The first is chairside bleaching, which uses laser light to intensify the bleaching process. The procedure is performed in the dentist’s office. After the initial cleaning and inspection of the teeth, the dentist usually photographs the teeth to monitor their progress. A rubber mouthguard may be inserted to protect the gums and other soft tissue. A peroxide bleaching gel is then applied to the teeth. Finally, the dentist focuses a laser light onto the teeth, activating the gel. Chairside bleaching takes about an hour or two for one session. Patients with teeth that are particularly dull or stained may want multiple sessions.
